A1 near Eemnes faces evening and night closures from Tuesday

Rijkswaterstaat restarts finishing work on the A1 between Eemnes and Muiderberg next week. It starts with a closed off-ramp at Blaricum on Monday, followed by evening and night closures of the parallel carriageway from Tuesday.

Rijkswaterstaat, the national roads agency, continues work on the A1 next week between knooppunt (interchange) Eemnes and knooppunt Muiderberg. Road users will be affected in the evening and at night. The work is described as finishing work.

Several on- and off-ramps will be tackled and part of the parallel carriageway will be maintained. Rijkswaterstaat says it chose night work deliberately "because there is less traffic on the road then". The road stays open as normal during the day, but the maximum speed is lowered for some time.

What happens next

  • Monday: an off-ramp at Blaricum is closed.
  • Tuesday 27 to Thursday morning 29 October: the A1 parallel carriageway towards Amsterdam between exit Soest (10) and Witte Bergen (9a) is closed in the evening and at night, as are the connecting roads from the A27 towards the A1 to Amsterdam.
  • Wednesday 28 October: the road is open during the day, but the surface is not yet finished and the maximum speed is 70.
  • 16 to Thursday morning 19 November: expect lane closures and delays on the A1 towards Amsterdam.

In July and August the A1 from Eemnes to Muiderberg was closed for weeks for maintenance, including new asphalt and new crash barriers. At the peak, 200 people worked on the road at the same time.
