A man was shot in the Karel Doormanstraat in central Rotterdam shortly before 05:00 on Saturday. Police arrested two men for the shooting. Both suspects, aged 24 and 28, live in Rotterdam.

Police say the man who was hit is 27 years old and was wounded. According to police, he was taken to hospital after the shooting in the city centre.

Police say a conflict outside a nightlife venue was probably the cause of the shooting.

Police found a firearm in the area near the Karel Doormanstraat. They also found several cartridge casings there.
