Police arrested three more people on Wednesday in the investigation into the fatal shooting in Nijmegen on 21 July. They are an 18-year-old man from Zwaag, a minor boy from Hoorn and a 19-year-old man from Avenhorn.

Two men were arrested on Monday 12 October: a 19-year-old from Amsterdam and a 21-year-old from Hoorn. Both are still in custody.

An 18-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested on the evening of the shooting. He was released a day later and is no longer a suspect.

Around 22.00 on Tuesday 21 July, police received a report of a shooting on the Graafseweg, not far from the Vierdaagsefeesten, the street festivities that were under way in the city. Officers found a wounded 18-year-old man from Rotterdam. He was given first aid and taken to hospital, where he died.

The motive is still under investigation, police say.

Police say the investigation continues despite the arrests and they still need help. They ask anyone with information who has not yet spoken to them to call 0800 6070, or to call Meld Misdaad Anoniem (the anonymous crime reporting line) on 0800 7000 to stay anonymous.
