# Search for missing kitesurfer off Scheveningen halted again

Emergency services resumed the search off the Scheveningen coast on Monday morning for a water sportsman who went missing on Sunday. A few hours later they halted it again because of the weather.

A large search operation was launched off the coast as Storm Boelo swept across the country.

The kitesurfer went missing on Sunday afternoon. The search was stopped that evening because of strong wind and high waves caused by the storm, and resumed at 7.30am on Monday.

Several emergency services searched with rescue boats on the water and from the air with a helicopter and an aeroplane. The police said the search was stopped around lunchtime because of the weather and that there would be no more searching on Monday.
