The Openbaar Ministerie has demanded 2.5 years in prison, six months of them suspended, against Q.E. (27) from Dordrecht. It wants two years against his girlfriend F.A. (22). The case concerns an attempt to blow up a front door on the Professor Struijckenlaan in Baarn on the night of 7 September 2025.

Prosecutors suspect Q.E. of attempted arson, attempted bombing and possessing firearms. They say videos of firearms found on his phone are real.

The resident woke that night to the alarm of his doorbell camera and saw a man had stuck a package on his front door. He chased the man away. As the man fled, he threw a package into the bushes containing two bottles of petrol and a Super Cobra, heavy illegal fireworks. The 54-year-old man was arrested the same night. In May he was sentenced to two years in prison.

F.A. admits she drove a van from Dordrecht to Baarn on the night of 6 to 7 September. She told the court she never knew anyone was in the back and that she went night fishing with Q.E., as they often did. Her lawyer says she learned only months later, when she was arrested, what had happened in Baarn.

Q.E. says a good friend phoned him that evening while he was fishing and asked him to take someone away. He will not name the friend, citing "the safety of me and my family". He declines to comment on the firearm videos.

The couple's lawyers argue that there is no lawful, convincing evidence.
