A man was shot dead in the front garden of a house on the Weverpad in Schiedam at around 17:00 on Saturday. A second man was hit in the leg. Police are searching for the three suspects.

According to police, three young men were doing odd jobs in the garden, next to a shed. They came under fire as three other men of about the same age walked up. The man who died was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wounded man was taken to hospital. The third man who was shot at ran away.

Police began a manhunt for the three suspects. Officers went door to door to ask residents for any footage of the shooting or of the suspects' escape.

Forensic investigators put up a large tent over the body to protect evidence. Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with images to come forward, in particular about where the three suspects ran and may be hiding.

The third man who was shot at, and who ran off after the attack, was later found by police. The search continues for the three young men who walked up to the garden.
