# Police end search for missing kitesurfer off Scheveningen

Police ended the search for a missing kitesurfer off Scheveningen on Tuesday around noon because of the weather, a spokesperson said. The search will not resume.

Searchers found the kitesurfer's belongings during the operation, including the kiteboard and the kite.

The kitesurfer was reported missing on Sunday at about 14:00. Police say the chance that the kitesurfer is still alive is very small.

The missing kitesurfer is a 18-year-old boy.

A family representative said the family is torn between hope and fear, but strongly expects the worst. "They are grateful to the emergency services for everything that has been done and hope he is found soon," the representative said.
