# Netherlands now has 962 cybersecurity companies, up from 233

The number of cybersecurity firms in the Netherlands has grown sharply. At the start of 2020 there were only slightly more than one hundred, according to the KVK, the Chamber of Commerce.

These companies advise other businesses and organisations on data protection and online safety. They can also manage online systems and train other organisations' staff in cyber security.

Companies and sole traders in the Netherlands are required to register with it, and it keeps the public Handelsregister, a database of registered businesses with details such as their activity and registration date.
