Nellie Benner is the third DJ to enter the Glazen Huis (Glass House) of 3FM Serious Request this year. It was announced on Thursday evening. She joins Barend van Deelen and Wijnand Speelman, both 38, who were announced that morning and will be in the glass house together for the third time.

The three DJs let themselves be locked up on the Markt in Arnhem to raise money for the Brandwonden Stichting, this year's good cause. The Glazen Huis stands there from 18 to 24 December, with live radio and television made 24 hours a day.

Benner calls her first time in the Glazen Huis "really amazing". She says she spent years glued to the radio and television in the week before Christmas, and worked as a DJ on and around the square.

The cause is personal for her. "I went through it myself: as a teenager my jumper once caught fire. It happens so fast," Benner says. "My father was able to save me, but I realise it could have turned out differently."

## Background

- **3FM Serious Request**: 3FM Serious Request is the annual charity fundraising marathon of the Dutch public radio station 3FM, held for one good cause each year. DJs stay in a public glass studio called the Glazen Huis (Glass House) for about a week, broadcasting live on radio and television around the clock while people donate money.
- **Brandwonden Stichting**: The Brandwonden Stichting (Burn Injuries Foundation) is a Dutch foundation that works for people with burn injuries and their families. It supports them through information, aftercare and research into burn injuries, and it is funded largely by donations.
