Coen K. (36) from Uden is on trial in Den Bosch, suspected of intentionally killing his girlfriend Jessica from Vlijmen by repeatedly kicking and stamping on her head and neck at her home on the Parklaan. The court has set aside two days, and the prosecution is due to demand a sentence on the second day, which starts at 9.00.

The court said the suspect is alleged to have kicked and stamped on her at least seven times.

K. told the court: "I lost it." He said he and Jessica had both been drinking, and that sedatives combined with alcohol left gaps in his memory. He said there was no history of violence between them.

His lawyer says K. was addicted to medication and assumes he suffered a delirium, a sudden and temporary state of severe confusion, from combining it with alcohol. "The violence came out of nowhere," the lawyer said, adding that K. is not malicious by nature.

An ex-partner of K. said in a statement that he abused her at least 30 times. His lawyer disputes this, and the prosecution is expected to argue that K. was violent more often.

A psychologist and psychiatrists found K. was not fully responsible for his actions at the time. K. told the court he accepts that a punishment will come alongside treatment.
