Rotterdam-based Hardt Hyperloop is restarting after its bankruptcy in March, the company says. According to Hardt, the American investor Green Rock is leading an investment round of several million euros, with existing investors and shareholders also putting in money.

Co-founder Tim Houter says the money opens the way to new tests at the European Hyperloop Center in Veendam. Hardt built the centre's 420-metre test track, where hyperloop technology is tested and demonstrated.

Houter said the new investment is good news for the test centre. "Hardt can support testing at the test centre, and it's aiming to start testing there itself again too," he said.

Hardt says it wants to use the money to develop its technology further, prepare existing hyperloop projects and launch new ones.

Existing backers, including Perpetuum Ventures and Urban Impact Ventures, are investing again. "This investment marks a new chapter after a challenging period," Houter said.

Hardt Hyperloop is developing technology to carry people at high speed in capsules through a vacuum tube.

## Background

- **European Hyperloop Center**: The European Hyperloop Center is a test facility in Veendam, in the province of Groningen, where hyperloop technology is tested. Hyperloop is a concept for moving pods through low-pressure tubes at high speed, and the centre has a 420-metre test track for this purpose.
