The A50 closes on Friday from 9 pm between the Bankhoef interchange and the Volkel exit, towards Den Bosch and Eindhoven. Rijkswaterstaat, the national roads agency, warns of about 40 minutes of extra travel time.

The A50 work is done in two phases. On Saturday traffic can still drive as far as the Bankhoef interchange. On Sunday the closure already starts at the Paalgraven interchange.

## A58 near Breda

The A58 is closed between the Sint Annabosch and Galder interchanges because of problems with the reinforcement of the Royaaldreef viaduct. Extra investigation this weekend will determine what is needed to repair it.

Traffic towards Rotterdam, Vlissingen and Antwerp is being diverted via the A27 and A59, adding about an hour. Local roads may also get busy. The work lasts until Tuesday morning, so the Monday morning rush hour may see extra delays. The Bavel on- and off-ramp is closed to traffic from Tilburg.

## A65 and A27

The A65/N65 between Tilburg and Vught, towards Den Bosch, is closed until Monday morning. Trees and hedges along the road are being felled or trimmed, and major maintenance is under way.

The A27 is closed again in both directions between the Lunetten and Everdingen interchanges, adding half an hour to an hour. The diversion runs via the A12 and A2.

## Background

- **Rijkswaterstaat**: The Dutch national agency for roads and water: the executive body of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. It builds, maintains and manages the national motorway and main road network, the major waterways and locks, and the national flood defences. When it announces closures or diversions on motorways, as it does for roadworks, it is the authority behind the traffic information.
