The prices Dutch industry charges for its goods (afzetprijzen) were 8.3% higher in September than in September 2025, figures from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) show. In August the annual increase was 6.9%. Compared with August, prices rose 1.3% on average: 1.7% on the foreign market and 0.9% at home.

Oil usually has a big effect on factory-gate prices, CBS says. A barrel of North Sea Brent crude cost over €87 in September, against €76 in August. That is almost 53% more than a year earlier. CBS links the rise in crude prices since March to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.

Petroleum products were 75.4% more expensive than a year earlier, against 59.7% in August. Chemical prices were 14.9% higher; CBS says oil price changes often feed through to chemical prices with some delay.
