The KNMI has issued a code yellow weather warning from Saturday evening until Monday for Zeeland, Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Friesland and Groningen. Gusts of 75 to 90 km/h are possible. Around midnight, gusts in the western Wadden area could reach about 100 km/h.

The KNMI says the strong gusts will last all day Sunday. It warns of dangerous situations because the trees are still in leaf, so many branches, mostly smaller ones, could break off. Traffic may also be disrupted.

In Limburg, code yellow applies from Saturday 23:00 to Sunday 04:00. Gusts of up to 75 km/h are possible, mainly in the heuvelland, the hilly south of the province.

The remains of storm Austen caused damage in many places on Friday, especially in the south, where trees fell. Storm Boelo is expected from Saturday evening.

Fallen trees on the line disrupted trains on Saturday morning between Alphen aan den Rijn and Gouda, and between Heerlen and Maastricht. Fewer trains run to and from Germany because of trees on the German line.
